Assistant Project Manager

Outline

The purpose of the Assistant Project Manager is to assist the Project Manager with Project Administration, handle mini projects, act as Project Support and “right hand man” to the Project Manager.  After a 3 to 6-month period, having successfully completed small projects, the Assistant Project Manager should progress to Project Manager. 

The Project Manager is be responsible for the development of relationships with the current Clients in order to understand their needs and define solutions to cater for these needs.  The Project Manager must develop and deliver these solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the client sites while delivering profitable projects for the company.  This role is fully recoverable.  i.e. the Project manager must fully justify his/ her role through profitable execution of projects.

Key Deliverables

The role will be primarily based in the Dublin Region but regular bid opportunities and projects nationwide in Ireland is anticipated and expected:

 Be part of a lean team of Project Managers ensuring “cradle to grave” delivery of projects

  • The top priority of the project manager will be to deliver safe and high-quality projects to our clients

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for profitability of the Projects and the overall profitability of the projects’ division

  • The project manager will be responsible for ensuring projects provide an identifiable “value add” to the client

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients

  • Support other business units including sales and operations where required

  • Ensure timelines and budgets of individual projects are met

  • Participate in training and upskilling

  • Remain current and up to date with industry changes and technology changes

  • Travel expectations – Travel within Ireland and attendance at projects outside of Dublin will be expected in the role.


    The Person

     

  • The Assistant Project Manager should have at least 2/3 post-graduation experience Facilities Management, or Electrical/ Mechanical construction/ maintenance/ project management

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Project Management qualification or other relevant construction qualification.  Other relevant Engineering degrees plus experience will be considered

  • A trade qualified Electrical Technician with relevant experience will also be considered.

  • Relevant Project Management Training

  • An understanding of Project finance/ cash flows etc is desirable
